Description
The VA Salt Lake City Health Care System has need for a multi-discipline AE for designs of projects in fiscal year 2002. Selected AE will negotiate scope, schedule, and fee for each work order as the circumstances requires. Procurement will be set aside for small business and procured in accordance with FAR part 36 and FAR part 19. Designs will primarily be for projects at the VASLCHCS, 500 Foothill Blvd. Salt Lake City, Utah, but could include designs of projects at outlying facilities. Multi-discipline tasks could include any or all of the following: Civil, landscape, architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire-safety, and interior design. Other incidental aspects of building design, construction, construction administration, building management, or furnishing of tenant spaces may also be required, such as market studies, lease development planning, maintenance management, record document development, code review, safety analysis, etc. Total fees are anticipated but not guaranteed to be $50,000 per year. Planned award is for a base plus four option years. The A/E must demonstrate their qualifications and any consultants or subcontractors qualifications with respect to the following published evaluation factors. (1) Professional qualifications of the firm and staff including those of any consultant's for multi-discipline projects mentioned above. (2) Specialized experience and technical competence for multi-discipline fields. (3) Capacity of the firm to accomplish the work within reasonable time limits (4) Past performance of contract work with government and private agencies with emphasis on work accomplished for the VA, in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules. (5) Specific internal quality control procedures demonstrating their use in ensuring technical accuracy and coordination of plans and specifications. (6) Geographical location within 100 miles of the VASLCHCS and knowledge of local site conditions with the ability of the firm to provide on-site support in a timely manner. Firms which meet the requirements are invited to submit a current SF 254 form including any subcontractors SF 254 along with a SF 255 covering the multi-discipline factors mentioned above to Garth M.
