- Description
- Decommissioning and demolition services at Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos NM. Scope of Work expected to include decommissioning a research nuclear reactor and several other building decommissioning projects requiring removal of hazardous materials. The solicitation requires submission of a Statement of Qualifications from which bidders for a subsequent RFP will be selected. An award of a single master Task Order Agreement is possible but the University reserves the right to issue as many as four Master Task Order Agreements if it determines this would be in the best interest of the University. Prerequisites: Interested firms must provide three examples of demolition and decommissioning work done over the past five years and at least two of the projects must be greater than $2,00,000 each. A Contractor's safety experience and quality assurance program will also be key in selecting the successful contractor or contractors. Prior experience in nuclear reactor decommissioning by a team member is required. Special requirements: Work will be performed in a nuclear facility with specific security requirements (i.e., escorts, U.S. citizenship requirements, no personal vehicles allowed in facility parking lots, etc.) Work includes Civil: earthwork, concrete and asphalt paving, and site restoration. Structural: demolition and decontamination of buildings, abatement and disposal of hazardous materials. Project cost is estimated between $2,000,000 and $21,000,000 dependent upon program funding and projects approved for decommissioning. The final dollar value will be determined prior to the contract award. The length of Task Order Agreement is five years. The initial Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is expected to be available November 15, 2001 with qualified bidders expected to receive a Request for Proposal (RFP) by December 10, 2001.
