Description

Notice of intent to negotiation a Sole Source Contract with EMC Corporation, 5 Technology Drive, Milford, MA 07157. The Department of Energy (DOE), Albuquerque Operations Office (AL), intends to solicit Other than Full and Open/Sole-Source under authority of FAR 6.302 for support services for the operating system software on a HF radio system with nationwide communications coverage for Security Communications (SECOM) for the Transportation and Emergency Operations Division located in Albuquerque, NM. The operating system software was provided previously by Data General Corporation, a Division of EMC. License updates and maintenance upgrades are provided only by Data General Corporation and therefore is the only source that can provide the services required. The term of the contract will be 12 months. Work is to begin on around 28 Nov 01. Solicitation of offerors will be by written quotation. The NAICS code for this procurement is 34112.
