Description

The National Exposure Research Laboratory (NERL), Office of Research and Development (ORD), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina 27711, and Battelle, Columbus, Ohio, are partners in the Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Program, Advanced Monitoring Systems (AMS) Center. The goal of ETV is to verify the performance characteristics of commercially ready environmental technologies, so potential purchasers and permitters have an independent and credible assessment of the technology they are buying or permitting. The AMS Center is focused on verifying air, water, and soil monitoring technologies. Vendors of portable emission analyzers (including vendors who participated in previous AMS Center verification of portable NO/NO2 emission analyzers) are invited to participate in a verification test addressing monitoring capabilities for multiple gases. Specifically, this verification test will address measurement of nitrogen oxides (NO/NO2/NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), and oxygen (O2), in combustion emissions. A draft test/QA plan for this verification has been prepared and is undergoing review. Vendors who wish to have their technologies tested must contact Battelle as indicated below. However, vendors must state their intent to participate in this verification test by November 21, 2001, in order to provide input into the plan.
