THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE Synopsis FOR SHUTTLE ELECTRIC AUXILIARY POWER UNIT-SMALL CELL BATTERY MODULE . This notice serves as the official amendment to the subject solicitation and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this modification is to issue a Request for Information (RFI) at this time. This RFI is for information and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as promote competition. Prospective offerors are invited review the attached Statement of Work and End Item Specifications files, and sumbit comments or questions to: Primary Point of Contact, Joshua Soto, no later than December 3, 2001 via electronic transmission or by facsimile transmission. This solicitation/synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the review. Any questions regarding this announcement should be directed to the identified point of contact. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
