Description

The proposed work consist of the construction of a new C-130 Flight Simulator facility at Little Rock Air Force Base. The new two-story facility will consist of 3730 square meters. The building is divided into two (2) Areas A and B. Area A contains the simulator bay and support areas, which are required to be completed earlier than B (Phased Construction is required). Area B includes the teaching/administration areas and other support areas. The project includes several restrooms, stairways, computer r ooms, briefing rooms, break areas with casework, and freight elevator. The project includes site development such as new parking, driveways, sidewalks, landscaping, and new perimeter service drive. The building will have mechanical, electrical, fire prot ection/detection, lightning protection, seismic protection, communication services, and other support infrastructures. In addition there are five Bid Options including, but not limited to, public address system, main room theatre seats, parking lot (inclu ding lighting, sidewalks, mechanical, masonry wall, dumpster masonry wall, pavilion, rear service drive, and burying the overhead primary electrical lines across Thomas and at 1220/1230A area. Demolition of overhead and underground utilities, concrete pad s, asphalt areas, trees, sidewalks, etc., is required to prepare the site for the new facility. Demolition of existing buildings is not required. The estimated project duration is approximately 548 calendar days. It is anticipated to be a Firm Fixed Pri ce Contract. The North American Industrial Classification System code is 233320 and the annual size standard is $27.5 million. Estimated magnitude of work is between $5 -- 10 Million. Issue date for solicitation will be on or about December 10, 2001. Th is project is unrestricted. The Little Rock District is currently working with an 8(a) firm for procurement of this project. If the District is successful negotiating a fair and reasonable contract price with the 8(a) firm, this solicitation will be canc elled before bids are due. The solicitation will be available on Compact Disk (CD-ROM) and provided free of charge. IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE NUMBER OF CD-ROMS WILL BE LIMITED TO ONE (1) PER FIRM. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a printed hard copy format.
