Description
Item 0001:Electric Heat Tape, Self-Regulating, Special Characteristics: Heat Tape, 8 Watt, and Equal to RAYCHEM P/N 8BTV1-CR. Electric self-regulating heaters (Heat Tape) and accessories must be equivalent to and provide the same basic freeze protection as products manufactured by Raychem. Heat tape to be used on either plastic or metal pipe and may be exposed to aqueous inorganic chemicals. Electric heat tape shall have the following characteristics: Shall be flat. Shall be flexible. 16 AWG Bus Bars. Low heat density strip of parallel circuit construction. Heat tape is to be internally grounded. Continuous inner core of self-regulating conductive material. Core surrounded by braided grounding shield of tinned copper. Core and shield surrounded by a polyolefin jacket which will insulate, be flexible, and waterproof. Capable of being cut to a desired length during application. Op erate on 120 VAC. Use no thermostatic controls. Be able to respond to varying localized temperatures along the length of the pipe. May be able to maintain a minimum water temperature of 40 DEG. F. with an ambient temperature of 20 DEG. F. Be capable of being installed under insulation. Accessories are to provide a waterproof connection. MERCURY CONTROL (SUPPLIES) (C7F600) (C500X) Mercury or mercury containing compounds shall not be intentionally added or come in direct contract with hardware or supplies furnished under this contract. Preparation for delivery (commercially packaged items). All kit parts that make up one accessory kit will be packaged together into one package and identified as a local stock number (5970-LL-DM1-0259) . Qty: 5000 feet to be quoted as a delivered price, and delivered in two equal lots of 2500 feet each. First delivery 4 weeks after receipt of or der (ARO), second and final delivery six months ARO. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will NOT be issued. This announcement is issued as N00102-02-Q-0646 and incorporates provisions and clauses effective through Federal Acquisition circular 2001-01. The North American Industry Classification System (NAISC) code for this acquisition is (332913). This acquisition is reserved for Small Business. Place of delivery is Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth NH.03801-2500.
