Description

The Marrow Foundation (R) and the National Marrow Donor Program (R) (NMDP) are pleased to announce the availability of applications for the Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (BIPI) Post-Doctoral Fellowship under the auspices of the Amy Strelzer Manasevit Scholars Program for the Study of Post-Transplant Complications. This fellowship is directed toward physicians and scientists in training for careers in immunology and related disciplines, and is made possible through a generous grant from Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. The Scholars Program is dedicated to the memory of Amy Strelzer Manasevit. Requirements and Conditions: (1) An award will be made in the amount of $35,000 for one year's support of the applicant's salary. (2) Proposals must describe research projects addressing immunological issues arising after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. The research may involve clinical investigations, translational research or basic laboratory investigations. (3) Each proposal must be accompanied by a letter of support and sponsorship from the applicant's primary research mentor. (4) Applicants must hold a doctoral degree and a position in an approved U.S. fellowship progam for training in hematology, oncology, immunology, transplantation or a related field. (5) Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or foreign citizens holding a valid U.S. visa. (6) One BIPI Fellow will be announced in January 2002 for the funding year July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003.
