- Description
- The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is seeking a source to provide the personnel, equipment, work instruments, and other items or services, necessary to perform monthly software maintenance as far as responding to telephone inquiries by answering questions relating to the LSFS/MARCIS Cognos software and other applications. The contractor will be responsible for making minor programming changes and providing and/or assisting in the installation of software updates on the HP3000s located in Athens and Washington, DC. The Contractor must have access to HP3000 with MPE/iX operating system, TurboImage and Cognos Powerhouse 4GL. Over the course of the contract, software enhancements shall be required to improve the efficiency and data quality of the LSFS-MARCIS systems, PREP and add-on modules, LEARN and BITES. For this Indefinite Quantity Contract, there will also be additional delivery orders that consist of developing applications that transmit information to individuals using the Agency mail system; provide statistical support and develop applications to enhance sampling strategies; develop entry screens and reports that will comply with ISO 17025 data quality standards; and develop applications to automate the entry of results from analytical equipment. The period of performance for the contract will be from date of award through September 30, 2002, with four one-year option periods. The solicitation will be issued electronically and will be available at the following website (http://www.fsis.usda.gov/om/proc/solicitations.htm) 15 business days after the publication date of this synopsis. This will be a small set-aside procurement. Offerors are responsible for routinely checking this website for any possible solicitation amendments that may be issued. It is anticipated that an Indefinite Quantity contract will be awarded to the contractor who provides the best value for the government.
