- Description
- This is a Market Research to locate sources that can provide laundry and cleaning service for McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey. The functional areas include: (i) Administration, (ii) Laundry & Cleaning and (iii) Pick up & Delivery. The contractor shall provide all management, tools, equipment and labor necessary to ensure that Laundry and Dry Cleaning services are performed at McGuire AFB in accordance with Federal, State &Local regulations and Commercial Standards. The contractor is encouraged and expected to use innovative approaches to efficiently and effectively accomplish Statement of Work requirements in a timely manner, at reduced cost, and in a way that fosters pride and ownership of work performed. REQUIREMENTS: PROCESS TIME: The contractor will have 48 hours to process and return all articles. All articles picked-up should be returned on the scheduled delivery day immediately following the allotted processing time. PICK-UP: The contractor shall pick-up, sort, and count all items to be serviced at each facility. Any discrepancy between the government and the contractors count shall be resolved prior to departure. The contractor shall provide a delivery ticket reflecting all items, and a copy will be retained by the government at each location. REPAIRS: The Contractor shall repair items designated by the government using thread and material of the same quality, compatible color, color fastness, and texture as that used in the manufacture of the articles. Repairs include, but are not limited to, replacement of zippers, tears, open seams, drapery pleats and holes. Any items determined unserviceable or un-repairable shall be returned in a separate bundle. All repairs shall be returned within one week after pick-up on the next scheduled delivery day. The contractor shall provide a price quotation to the customer and obtain approval prior to proceeding with repairs. WORKMANSHIP AND SANITATION: Delivered finished articles and service shall conform to the Standards and Recommendations of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and generally accepted industry standards of quality of cleanliness, finish, and appearance. All work performed shall be done under sanitary conditions. ITEMS: Items to be picked up, laundered and delivered include but not limited to the following: sheets (full and single), pillowcases, blankets, bath towels, wash cloths, hand towels, pillows, mattress pads, mattress covers, bed spreads, bath mats, table cloth, napkins, sleeping bags, trousers, parkas, liners, rags, shower curtains, robe, mop, hospital scrubs, wrapper (54x54) and lab coats. No Government furnished property and services will be provided for this requirement. No solicitation document exists at this time for this request. All interested parties will receive additional information concerning any resultant solicitation to include the Statement of Work. The government will not pay any effort expended in responding to this ?Sources Sought Announcement? and does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notification. Neither would the government pay for any information received in response to this request. Responses to this notice must be submitted not later than 21 Dec 2001 to the 305th Contracting Squadron, 2402 Vandenberg Avenue, McGuire AFB, NJ 08641.
