Description

NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for eight (8) each p/n 5962R9858301VXA, UT80CRH196KD 16-bit microcontroller; 20 Mhz; 68-lead flatpack package; solder ("A") lead finish; QML class V; total dose characateristics guaranteed to guarantee 1E5 RADS (si). This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Aeroflex Microelectronic Systems, Melbourne, FL. Aeroflex Microelectronics is the only company that can provide a microcontroller capable of high speed (20 Mhz), modular and radiation hard, and is smaller than other designs (68 pin quad flat pack) which is critical for this instrument. Its combined instruction and data memory space is critical to the established design. This microcontroller is the only instrument that can be used in the exiting design and meets the required specifications. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on December 14, 2001. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
