- Description
- This project is to design and construct a new 4550 square meter (sm) Consolidated Support Facility and select renovation of approximately 1000 sm existing facility at Edwards AFB, California. The facility will combine several 95th Air Base Wing administr ative and support offices into a single centralized building, including headquarters command office. Architectural features shall comply with Base Building Standards. Prewired modular furniture is required for the new facility. The building shall be ful ly wired to accommodate standard office systems. Building connections to all base utilities is in the general site vicinity. Landscaping, vehicle parking, and exterior lighting shall also be provided. The renovation work is expected to be minimal with p rimary work activities associated with addition of sprinkler system for the entire building, removal of environmental hazards, removal and relocation of some partition walls and doorways, and cosmetic repairs. There may also be some demolition of other existing facilities required. This will be a Request for Proposal (RFP), restricted to 8(a), Region 9 contractors. The proposal will be evaluated on Design Experience, Construction Experience, Design and Construction Past Performance, Schedule, Organizat ion Chart, Technical Approach, Past Performance Utilization of Small, Small Disadvantaged and Women-Owned Small Business Concerns and Price. Options are as follows: Systems and Loose Furniture for New Building, Renovation of Building 2419, Demolition of Building 1609B and Demolition of Building 3502. Estimated cost is $5,000,000 -- $10,000,000. The SIC for this project is 1542. NAICS for this project is 233320. The size standard is $27.5 million. Time for completion is 662 calendar days. Solicitation wi ll be issued on approximately 18 December 2001. The solicitation will be available on CD ROM only. Project files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files an can be viewed, navigated or printed, using Adobe Acrobat Reader (available on the CD and the inte rnet). The drawing files are in CAL format and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Source View READER. Both readers are contained in the solicitation package. System requirements are 486-based personal computer, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater, 8 MB application RAM, 4 MB hard disk space, and compact disk drive.
