Description

The Eglin Small Business Office and 96 Communications Group will co-sponsor an Information Technology show at Eglin AFB FL on Tuesday, 5 March 2002. Shows sponsored by the Small Business Office are the only ones allowed on Eglin at the current time. The emphasis will be on IT companies who have new technology that has applicability to Eglin AFB. We are particularly interested in the following areas: information security, mobile computing, wireless communications, graphics/visualization development tools, storage area networks, and any technology that supports Eglin's primary mission of research, development, and test of conventional munitions. Eglin has approximately 12,000 military, civilian, and contractor employees. HQ Air Force Special Operations Command, at nearby Hurlburt Field, has another 10,000 employees. The main emphasis will be on companies who can exhibit new technology; not resellers of off-the-shelf commercial equipment. The number of invitations to resellers will be limited. First priority for exhibitors will be given to small businesses and local companies; however, up to 10 large businesses will be invited to attend. The number of exhibitors will be limited to 28 with about 10 of the spots already taken. The registration fee will be between $50-$100 which will cover booth space, advertising for the event, and food for exhibitors and attendees. We will also have a separate room available for companies to make individual presentations if they wish. More information on this will be provided upon request. Invitations and more detailed information will then be sent to those companies who have technology of interest to the technical community at Eglin.
