Description

Concerns having the ability to provide a Swift Pack Kalish Model SV2 Intellisense 12 track, 3 tray upgraded pharmaceutical tablet/capsule bottle filling counting device. The model SV2 counter utilizes an electrostatic field sensing technique to allow counting of clear gel capsules and detection of out-of-specification (size, shape, and/or weight) tablets and capsules. All medication contact parts are made of stainless steel with no-tool disassembly/assembly design for cleaning purposes. The unit is capable of high fill rates and is completely and easily integrated into the current New Mexico VA Health Care Systems (NMVAHCS) bottle filling line consisting of the following other Kalish units-bottle sorter, bottle cleaner, cotton/rayon plug inserter, and capper. This counter is considered to be a sole source due to the foregoing features, particularly the necessity for line integration, the ability to count clear gel capsules and detect out of specification tablets or capsules, due to constant production needs, extensive downtime due to line integration problems cannot be at risk. Concerns are requested to give written notification (including telephone number for a point of contact) to Kathryn Ogilvie at the procuring office listed in this notice by December 18, 2001. It is the intent of the Albuquerque, NM, NMVAHCS, to negotiate the purchase of this Kalish Model SV2 from DT Packaging Systems, as the sole-source. Although no solicitation is available at this time, concerns responding to this notice may request a copy of the solicitation should one become available.
