Description
Amendment 4 Questions and Answers. Question 1: There is a requirement for BPA instructors to attend the FPFT course as a student and as an observer. We request to know that once we have personnel certified by the Navy can we at a later date run new hire instructors through an FPFT course that is conducted by us to meet the Navy certification requirement? Answer: A reasonable number of additional instructors may be certified for backup purposes and as a result of instructor turnover. This will be coordinated with the Local Training Authority (LTA) and Training Officer at each site. Question 2: Are classes scheduled back to back in order to save travel expenses of instructors by allowing them to run more than one course before returning home again? Answer: Class schedules are determined by student availability and fleet requirements and may or may not be run back to back. Current experience is that classes are unevenly scheduled, not back to back. Question 3: My staff is highly experienced in training servicemen in weapons and tactics. We feel that 5 instructors can train a class of 24 students. Is 5 instructors a reasonable student to instructor ratio in your perspective? Answer: Please refer to the Navy Instructions provided and the Purchase Description. Due to the high-risk nature of the live fire portion and the large number of entry level/"A"-School Students, the instructor to student ratios of 1 instructor to 2 students will be required; all other instructor to student ratios will be determined by your commercial practice and a risk assessment by the evaluation team.
