- Description
- Bechtel BWXT Idaho, LLC (BBWI), a management and operating contractor for the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) at the Idaho National Engineering & Environmental Laboratory (INEEL), is considering outsourcing an undetermined portion of its Information Technology (IT) functions. IT functions at the INEEL currently include (but are not limited to), computer hardware/software management, video conferencing, applications development, maintenance and operations, help desk, technician services, and associated activities that support a seat population of approximately 5,000 users in the Idaho Falls, Idaho area. BBWI is seeking companies who may have an interest in participating in a potential future solicitation. Depending on the mix and quality of offers, the IT scope may be outsourced to one or more IT providers. Teaming is encouraged. It is expected that more firms than can be accommodated in a reasonable manner may have an interest to provide these services. It is not the intent of BBWI to unduly exercise those who are not qualified. Therefore, be advised the Request(s) for Proposal (RFP), when completed, will be provided only to a pre-qualified group of firms, selected based on demonstrated qualifications. The initial qualifications requirements will be: Full function IT services provided to customers with more than 1,000 seats; and/or local and regional IT firms (Idaho and bordering states) Submittal of an expression of interest does not assure that BBWI will provide a response if in BBWI's opinion, the above minimum qualifications are not met and further consideration is not warranted. It is our intention to acquire reliable, responsive and cost effective services, and to also provide a "soft landing" to a dedicated IT workforce. This solicitation for interest shall not be construed in any manner to obligate the United States Government or BBWI for costs incurred by any party in support of this action; or to obligate BBWI to follow through with an acquisition. This CBD entry is not an exclusive avenue from which potential sources may be acquired. Additionally, at its discretion and without further notice, BBWI may proceed with an acquisition prior to the closing date listed below, or may accept responses after such date, as may be considered in the best interests of BBWI. Interested, qualified parties are to respond by e-mail only to Dennis G. Miller, Subcontract Administrator, at "dnm@inel.gov" by January 15, 2002. Please provide company qualifications, references of currently supported client companies, to include specific scope performed, points of contact, and other information considered meaningful to the bid list selection. Limit submittal to four pages.
