- Description
- The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) has a requirement for a CCD detector system that requires a CCD array with high quantum efficiency and low noise. It should be compact with a small camera and a PCI controller card that is installed directly into a computer. The necessary requirements are: 1) Have a 70% quantum efficiency at 767 nm, 2) dark current of 0.1 electron/pixel/sec at -50 degrees C, 3) Noise of 7.5 electrons at 1 MHz readout rate, 4) Anti-reflection coated windows to minimize light loss, which are necessary due to the low power nature of the experiments, 5) Has a vertical shaft rate of 16 microseconds per pixel for transferring charge within the array, 6) Have a continuous, self-cleaning function, which removes extraneous charge that accrues on the CCD array between exposures of the camera. This significantly reduces the amount of noise on the image, which is critical due to the low power nature of these experiments. It is the intent of the Government to award this procurement on a sole source basis under authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) with Andor Technology of S. Windsor, CT. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100,000). This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement. These are the complete specifications and no RFQ is available. All technical questions shall be addressed to Deborah S. Jin of NIST at 303 492-4021.
