Description

1. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number N66001-02-Q-0752 is issued as a request for Quotation. The provisions and clauses are those in effect using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center -- San Diego (SPAWARSYSCEN SAN DIEGO) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to iRobot Corporation of 32 Fitzgerald Drive, PO Box 375, Jaffrey, NH 03452 for three (3) small mobile outdoor robots (Model # ATRV). These robots will be additions to the Mobile Detective Assessment and Response System -- Exterior (MDARS-E) program. The anticipated award date is 21 Dec 2001. Delivery is required within 90 days from date of award. Partial shipments and payments are allowed. All deliveries will be made to Receiving Officer, SPAWAR Systems Center San Diego, 53560 Hull Street, San Diego, CA 92152-5410. Notes 1 and 22 apply. See numbered notes from any Monday edition of CBD. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interest capability statements received within 15 days after the publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The following clauses / provisions are hereby incorporated by reference: FAR 52.212-1 "Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items;" FAR 52.212-5 "Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes of Executive Orders -- Commercial Items. In reference to paragraph (b) of the aforementioned clause, the following additional clauses / provisions are incorporated: FAR 52.203-6 "Restrictions on Subcontractor Sales to the Government" Alt I; FAR 52.219-14 "Limitations on Subcontracting;" FAR 52.225-18 "European Union Sanction for End Products;" FAR 52.222-21 "Prohibition of Segregated Facilities;" FAR 52-222-26 "Equal Opportunity;" FAR 52.212-3 "Offeror Presentations and Certifications -- Commercial Items" Alt I (Fill In Required); DFARS 252.212-7001 "Offeror Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items" (Fill In Required); DFARS 252.212-7001 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes of Executive Orders Applicable to Defense Acquisition of Commercial Items." In reference to paragraph (b) of the aforementioned clause, the following additional clauses / provisions are incorporated: DFARS 252.225-7035 "Buy American Act -- North American Free Trade Agreement Implementation Act -- Balance of Payment Certificate" ALT I; DFARS 252.225-7007 "Buy American Act -- Trade Agreements -- Balance of Payments Program Certificate." The clause at FAR 52.212-4, "Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial Items", applies to this acquisition.
