Description

The Volpe National Transportation System Center (Volpe Center) is issuing a solicitation pursuant to the Small Business Innovation Development Act of 1982, PL 97-219, as amended by PL 99-443 and PL 102-564 and reauthorized by PL 106-554. The solicitation will be issued on or about February 15, 2002. The purpose of this solicitation is to invite small businesses with their valuable resources and creative capabilities to submit innovative research proposals that address high priority requirements of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Each concern submitting a proposal must qualify as a small business. The size standard for the SBIR Program is 500 employees. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available on both the DOT SBIR Program Internet site and the Volpe Center's Acquisition Management Division Internet site; these documents will be available in text format and reside on a WWW server, which may be accessed using Web browsers. The solicitation will be issued through electronic means only. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered. The WWW addresses, or URLs, for the 2002 DOT SBIR Program is http://www.volpe.dot.gov/sbir, and for the Volpe Center Acquisition Management Division home page is: http://www/volpe.dot.gov/procure/index.html. Offerors desiring to receive electronic notification of the solicitation's posting and availability for downloading may register at the Volpe Center Acquisition Management Division site. All interested parties are warned that when they register to receive solicit ations, amendments and other notices, the responsibility for providing the Government with an accurate and complete e-mail address lies with the contractor. Please note, if you have previously registered for SBIR Program notifications, including solicitation mailing list registration, you do not need to re-register for this solicitation. The Government will make no additional efforts to deliver information when the system indicates that transmissions cannot be delivered to the e-mail address provided. Paper copies of the solicitation and amendments WILL NOT be issued. Sources interested in receiving the solicitation are encouraged to register at the specified site to receive notification when the solicitation is posted and available for viewing/downloading. Offerors are reminded that they may register at any time to receive the solicitation.
