Description

The Maritime Administration intends to issue a Purchase Order through Commerical Acquisition procedures to obtain Naval Architect services to produce estimates for the following ship disposal options for the ALBERT E. WATTS, (1)Scrap the Vessel in Place, (2)Remove the deckhouses and machinery in place and tow the remainder to a local contractor facility, (3)tow the vessel to a demolition site in Mobilie Bay, (4)Tow the vessel to a demolition site on the Gulf Coast, (5)remove the deckhouses and machinery in place and tow the remainder to a demolition site on the Gulf Coast. The ALBERT E. WATTS is an old ship in extremely poor condition. The purpose of the estimates is to provide the government with a cost baseline to evaluate future disposal proposals related to hazardous material remediation and ship dismantlement.
