Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) contemplates award of a 12 month contract with four one year options, to provide the National Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID), Division of Vector-Borne Infectious Diseases, services to furnish management and personnel for "Animal Husbandry Services" in support of the operation of the Fort Collins Animal Facility, Fort Collins, Colorado. Services shall include veterinary consultation, routine animal care (housing, nutrition, hygiene), maintenance of a Specific Pathogen Free mouse colony, sanitation and cleaning of the animal facilities, animal handling and animal health surveillance. Animal care will be provided in accordance with the Animal Welfare Acts (Public Law 89-544, 94-279, 99-158) and the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, National Academy Press, 1996. A pre-proposal conference/site visit is planned for January 15, 2001 at the Fort Collins Animal Facility for interested parties. Prospective offerors are invited to attend; however, attendance is not mandatory. The date specified for receipt of proposals will be approximately 30 days after the pre-proposal conference. The issue date of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is anticipated to be on/about December 20, 2001. Pre-proposal questions shall be submitted electronically or faxed to Cheryl Stauss, zmp3@cdc.gov by January 3, 2002. Upon issuance, the RFP will be available on the internet at www.eps.gov.
