Description: A/E service to design and provide complete plans, specifications and cost estimates on project 693-091-104 for the Dept of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Design work shall be based on the following: remove existing antiquated air handling units (SACS 4, 5, & 6), associated controls, ductwork, piping (chilled water and steam), grilles and diffusers. New air handler will be installed with adequate outside air supply, humidification controls, HEPA filters, economizer controls, new diffusers and grilles. Ceiling areas will be replaced/repaired for new ductwork runs and diffuser/grille installation. Asbestos will be encountered and must be removed. A/E will procure industrial hygienist services and produce drawings and specs for asbestos abatement. New HVAC systems shall be designed using ASHRAE standard 62-1989, 'Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality". Also included in project scope will be replacement of existing exhaust fans. NAICS Code 541310, 4.0 mil. Est. Construction Cost $250,000-$500,000. This is not a request for proposal. Interested firms are to submit their SF 254 & 255 forms no later than 1/11/02 to the contracting specialist at the name and address listed above. The area of consideration is limited to a 100 mile radius of the Wilkes-Barre Va Medical Center. Subject to Availability of Funds. This is a Small Business Set-Aside. See note #24.
