Description

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://procurement.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/EPS/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin . The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ. NASA/GSFC plans to acquire a Lanier 5722 P Color Copier/Printer. The Lanier 5722 P Color Copier/Printer prints 25 pages per minute and copies 22 pages per minute in full color or black and white, 10.3 second first copy spend, 9600 x 600 DPI print and 600 DPI copy with continuous tone, 4 beam laser printing, automatic duplexing, recirculating automatic document feeder, 20 bin sorter with automatic stapling, LCD touch screen and key top, auto original type select, auto image rotation, color and text image overlay, 3450 sheet total paper capacity from four paper sources and a 50-sheet stack feed bypass, 25% to 400% zoom reduction/enlargement, connectivity to network via Phenom Z4 with 320 MB memory, and built in access codes. The 5722 P is rated for a monthly volume of up to 30,000 copies or prints. This also includes a Guaranteed Maintenance Agreement, which includes all supplies except paper and staples (toner included). NASA GSFC will be trading in a Xerox 5750 Color Printer with fiery controller. Delivery, Set up, and Training at no charge. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than Thursday, December 20, 2001. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any). An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B".
