Description

This is an amendment to Synopsis/Solicitation No. SB1341-01-Q-0115, advertised on December 10, 2001. The following are responses to questions that have been received concerning this requirement and are to clarify and change the specifications accordingly:THE DRAWINGS INDICATE A MDC PART NO.,WHO IS MDC AND IS IT REQUIRED TO USE THEIR MATERIAL? NIST is matching the MDC parts on the chamber that we are rebuilding. MDC Vacuum Products, 23842 Cabot Boulevard, Haywood, CA. 94545, PHONE: 800-443-8817. THE DRAWING INDICATES SS AS MATERIAL BUT DOES NOT SPECIFY A GRADE OF STAINLESS,WHAT TYPE IS REQUIRED? MDC uses 304 SS on their flanges. THE SYNOPSIS STATES ELECTRO-POLISH FINISH PER NIST DRAWING,WE SEE NO CALL OUT ON DRAWING, IS THERE ONE? Yes, the surfaces of the flanges are ELECTRO-POLISH FINISH except the sealing surfaces. DRAWINGS INDICATE EARS AND WIRE SEAL FLANGES ARE TO BE MACHINED FROM ONE PIECE? The flanges are not machined from one piece, the drawings indicate the MDC part numbers for all the flanges, 27, 12, 6 and 2.75. The response date is hereby changed to 3:00 p.m. local time on December 21, 2001. All other specifications, terms and conditions remain unchanged.
