Description

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is seeking the services of a qualified contractor(s) with mechnaical weed harvesters to remove aquatic plants (e.g., Eurasian water-milfoil, hydrilla, naiads, pond-weeds, etc.) from shallow water along developed shoreline and cut and maintain boating access lanes through colonies of aquatic plants in large reservoirs along the Tennessee River in northern Alabama and Tennessee. The harvester must be capable of cutting, collecting, and transporting harvested plant material to designated disposal sites. Work is seasonal beginning June through September. Contractor also must have capability to off load and transport harvested plant material to upland disposal sites if requested by TVA. In additon to aquatic plant removal from reservoirs, harvesters may be used to remove filamentous algae from fly ash ponds at TVA steam plants in northern Alabama, Tennessee, and western Kentucky during the period beginning May through November. Contract(s) may be awarded for a term of three years with possibility of renewal options. RFP will issue in early February.
