Description
Rental of a Temporary Desiccant Dehumidification (TDD) equipment that will provide dehumidified and temperature conditioned air to support sandblast and paint operations in the main ballast and interior tanks of submarines in drydock at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, located in Kittery, ME. The TDD equipment will comprise of three (3) independent and non-collocated systems for reliability, flexibility, and scheduling reasons. Each of the three (3) duplicate TDD systems will consist of: (a) a desiccant dehumidification unit (DDU) with an integral air-handler; (b) a temperature conditioning module (cooling or heating coil as determined by the seasonal ambient temperature); and (c) a chiller unit (provided by another Vendor) when the temperature conditioning module is a cooling coil type. The TDD equipment is for Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS). The TDD equipment will be connec ted between the 15th & 17th of January (two sets) and on the 29th or 30th of January (one set) and remain until July 29th. Initially, heating modules will be deployed and then swapped for cooling modules. The planned change over date for switching modules is sometime between the 10th & 22nd of April. The rental period is scheduled to complete on 29 July 2002.
