Description
Invitation for Bid for Steam Piping and Fin Tubes Replacement located at Federal Records Center, 9700 Page Boulevard, Overland, MO. Time for completion: 260 calendar days after notice to proceed. Notice to proceed anticipated to be issued on March 11, 2002. Estimated cost range: $1,000,000 -- $5,000,000. Work involves replacement of low-pressure steam heating, heating elements, and controls to a zone hot water system as specified in drawings and specifications. Base Bid work consists of demolition of all existing steam and condensate piping, valves, equipment, controls and trim for zone 3. Also included is the installation of new hot water supply and return piping valves, equipment, controls and trim for zone 3; removal of asbestos containing material; rebuilding existing pipe chase; relocating system furniture and equipment; installing electrical power and control for new equipment loads and repairing walls, ceilings and floor. All existing hot water zones or other steam heating zones not included in this contract shall remain fully functional at all times during the heating season. The following Options require the same scope of work as the base bid for each identified heating zone. Option No.1 -- Heating Zone 2, Option No. 2 -- Heating zone 5, Option No. 3 -- Heating Zone 6 and Option No. 4 -- Heating Zone 1. Work in heating system shall be done zone by zone according to each phase that is ordered out. All other zones not included in this contract shall remain fully functional at all times during the heating season. Asbestos Abatement competency qualification information will be required prior to award. No document charge or deposit is required. A subcontracting plan is required if award is anticipated to a large business. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the agency. Offers from Hub Zone small business concerns will receive a price evaluation preference per FAR 19.307. FAR Clause 52.219-4 Notice of Price Evaluation Preference for Hub Zone Small Business concerns shall apply. Offers from small disadvantaged business concerns will receive a price evaluation preference per FAR 19.1104.
