Description

Concerns having the ability to support the Data Capture and Processing Facility (DCPF) located at the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Center for Earth Resources Observations and Science (EROS) to replace the Antenna Control Unit (ACU) and Station Control Computer (SCC) attached to the ViaSat 5.4 meter antenna system with backup/spare LINUX host for SCC and spares for ViaSat 3880 ACU. ViaSat provides the following unique qualification in the following areas that are considered essential to fulfilling the USGS requirement: The 5.4m antenna was built by ViaSat and the ACU/SCC are integral components of this antenna system. It is critical that there is 100 % compatibility between the new ACU and SCC components and the existing antenna system. All information necessary to build, integrate and install the ACU and SCC would be considered propriety ViaSat information. Based on the information available at this time and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(b)(1)(i), the government considers the item specified as a sole source from ViaSat, Norcross, Georgia and proposes to negotiate a contract with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Concerns who feel that they can furnish the required services or its functional equivalent (based upon the criteria specified herein) are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures and such other materials that correspond to the required items to determine if competitive opportunities exist. No solicitation document exists, therefore, requirements for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consideration.This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
