- Description
- The Military Sealift Command requrires a Clean, approved, U.S or foreign-flag water barge capable of carrying approximately 1,000,000 U.S. GALLONS of potable water every fourteen (14) days. Barge must have coated tanks meeting code for the storage of potable water. Minimum tank coatings are provided below. If barge tanks are coated with a product other than the accepted list below, offeror must clearly detail what the coatings are. Offeror must provide date of coating application. Tank coatings shall have NSF approval for potable water tanks greater that 1000 gallons. Barge shall be fendered so as to preclude any metal to metal contact with the berthing barge. Minimum potable water standards must be maintained in accordance with NAVMED P-5010, 1-61 Chapters 5 and 6 dependent upon contractors water source. Barge must be hooked up 24/7 as berthing barge has no holding capacity. New barge meeting the 1,000,000 gallon capacity must be exchanged when attached barge is empty. Barge must be capable of maintaining constant offloading water pressure of 30 psi and be fixed with a flow meter. In accordance with the Cargo Preference Act of 1904, preference will be given to U.S. Flag vessels.
