GCSS-AF is an enterprise Information Technology services program implemented as a Service Oriented Infrastructure (SOI) supporting the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for AF combat support. GCSS-AF enables the warfighter with a single, secure sign-on to interoperable capabilities, facilitates integration of mission capabilities, and promotes cooperative data sharing across all AF operational support functional areas. The GCSS-AF mission is to provide timely, accurate, and trusted Agile Combat Support (ACS) information to Joint and AF commanders, their staffs, and ACS functional personnel at all ranks and echelons. To accomplish this, GCSS-AF provides common computing services, common software/hardware, corporate decision support and analytics warehouse, and enterprise security. GCSS-AF is a sec! ure network environment allowing Air Force personnel to access shared data and applications (supported by a robust network/information-centric infrastructure), regardless of location. Its user base includes all Air Force personnel (military, civilians, and contractors), Joint users/operators of Air Force operational support information, and other services and government agencies. A brand name justification and approval was approved on 12 November 2009 to allow for the purchase of brand name COTS original OEM software maintenance for COTS components and proprietary and commercial content delivery and authentication services. Work will be accomplished primarily at Hanscom AFB, MA, Maxwell AFB-Gunter Annex, AL, Wright Paterson AFB, OH, and Hill AFB, UT. Performance may be performed at the contractor's facilities and other DOD facilities as required. This acquisition is a full and open competition. Request for Proposal (RFP) FA8771-10-R-0001 is anticipated to be released in February 2010. The Government plans to award a single-award Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a three-year base period and four one-year options. Proposal response date is anticipated to be March 2010. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the Air Force. Bidders Library technical documentation is available to prospective offerors by request submitted through FEDBIZOPPS.
