- Description
- NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) intends to issue a Request for Proposal(RFP) from ITT to fabricate, assemble, integrate, test, flight qualify and deliver theNear Infrared Spectrograph (NIRSpec) Spare Focal Plane Array (FPA) for the James WebbSpace Telescope (JWST). The Contractor shall provide the personnel, facilities, andmaterials necessary to manage, fabricate, analyze, assemble, test and deliver the spaceflight qualified NIRSpec Flight Spare FPA in accordance with this SOW and specificationsprovided herein. The two Sensor Chip Assemblies (SCAs) needed to populate the focal planeshall be supplied by the Government. These items will be provided with issuance of theRFP.This procurement will be done as a sole source.NASA/GSFC anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed-Price type contract for this effort with ananticipated award date on or about March 24, 2009.The Government does not intend to acquire commercial items using FAR Part 12.See NASA Specific Numbered Note 26 this can be accessed at the following URL: http://genesis.gsfc.nasa.gov/nasanote.html.The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is334413.An Ombudsman has been appointed -- see NASA Specific Numbered Note B.This can be accessed at the following URL:http://genesis.gsfc.nasa.gov/nasanote.html.The perspective RFP and related documents (e.g., SOW, Specification, and DILS for thisprocurement will be available via the Internet.
