- The U.S. Army RDECOM Contracting Center, Natick Contracting Division, on behalf of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) has a requirement for an Expeditionary Field Kitchen (EFK). The EFK is a rapidly deployable, mobile feeding system capable of preparing the full DoD family of operational rations (UGR-A, UGR-B, and UGR-Heat & Serve) to 500 personnel in remote areas in support of ground combat elements. The Draft System Specifications are available on the Natick Contracting website (www3.natick.army.mil - Business Opportunities/Current Acquisitions/USMCEFK). The Government anticipates making multiple awards, but reserves the right to make a single or no award. This requirement will be a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this effort is 333415 and the Small Business Size Standard is 750 Employees THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP). The Government intends to make one Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) Five-Year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) award as a result of the Request for Proposals (RFP). The Government intends to order a minimum of 10 systems and a maximum of 105 systems. The Government anticipates a five year ordering period. Industry is encouraged to identify any area in the Draft System Specifications that needs clarification in order to provide a responsive bid in the upcoming solicitation. The Government reserves the right to change any of the above stated requirements or quantities at any time prior to the release of the RFP. Comments relating to this synopsis should be submitted via email to Kevin Parker at kevin.james.parker@us.army.mil no later than 18 Feb 2010. The Government will not be providing written correspondence to received comments The Government anticipates releasing the RFP on or about 22 February 2010 and the RFP will be open for thirty (30) days. Vendors are advised that an Industry Day has been tentatively scheduled for 05 February 2010 at the Aberdeen Test Center, this date is subject to change. A prototype system will be available for viewing and Government personnel will available for questions. Interested vendors must register via e-mail to Kevin Parker (kevin.james.parker@us.army.mil) no later than 02 February 2010. Once registered, vendors are further required to visit the ATC website (http://www.atc.army.mil/pages/visitorguide/directions.html) for detailed instructions regarding access the day of the event.
