- 22 January 2010 Intermodal and Ocean Transportation Services from Continental United States of America (CONUS) to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Isles The purpose of this synopsis is to notify interested parties that USTRANSCOM Directorate of Acquisition anticipates issuance of a solicitation on or about 8 Feb 2010 to provide ocean transportation services for the following: Service for intermodal and ocean containerized and break bulk cargo transportation and distribution services of military and military sponsored cargo offered for commercial ocean transportation in the Defense Transportation System (DTS) using ocean common or contract carriers offering regularly scheduled commercial liner service for requirements that may arise on the following routes: to/from Continental U.S. (CONUS) points and ports to the port of San Juan, Puerto Rico; and points and ports in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam; and intra-island service within Hawaii, to/from Hawaii and Guam, to/from Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, to/from Alaska and Hawaii/Guam, and within the US Virgin Islands. The anticipated period of performance will be for one year with two one-year option periods. The NAICS code is 483111. No hardcopies of this solicitation will be issued. The solicitation may be downloaded from the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency IAW FAR 5.207 (c)(15).
