- Description: The proposed contract action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within ten days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Interested companies shall respond to this notice by providing the following information: 1) Company Name, 2) Address, 3) Point of Contact information with telephone number and email address, 4) Cage Code, 5) Capabilities information/statement showing that the company has the ability to fulfill the Government requirement as described herein. The contractor shall be able to comply with all requirements described herein to be considered capable. This notice of intent to award a sole source is NOT a request for competitive proposals. The NAICS code is 541330. FSC code is B599. The size standard is $4.5 million. This project is for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District (SWF), Geotechnical Section (CESWF-EC-DG), who is working in a project management capacity with the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) on an engineering study to develop field stabilization methods to mitigate desiccation cracks for reducing slope and embankment failures. Provide an engineering study of field stabilization methods to mitigate desiccation cracking in order to reduce slope and embankment failures on local SWF projects. Study will include comprehensive field testing of three different stabilizers and the incorporation of state of the art measurement methods and materials. Determine field application treatments of stabilizers. Purchase and install field survey equipment and moisture sensors. Provide field monitoring. Provide final report of findings. This is a follow on contract to extend extensive field measurements, conduct statistical analyses, and provide slope stability assessments from actual data gathered.
