Description

DATE CHANGE: The date for the pre-bid conference has been delayed to17 Feb due to a winter weather warning for the area. See below. NOTE: Date for the Pre-bid Conference has changed from 04 Feb 2010 to 11 Feb 2010, due to local conditions (mud) and predicted additional. USDA NRCS has a requirement to clear Mesquite (Prosopis glandulosa) trees from approximately 665 acres of land to manage, and improve habitat for Military Training while improving vegetative cover that will slow erosion and sedimentation on a portion of fort Hood, Texas. Mesquite removal shall be accomplished in two phases, mechanical removal (grubbing) from the bud zone; followed by mulching or removal of all slash from Fort Hood. Period of Performance for this project is expected to be 22 March 2010 through 28 May 2010. To ensure complete understanding of the work requirements, a pre-bid conference is scheduled for 0900 - 1200, 17 Feb 2010. Interested parties shall meet at the USDA NRCS Ft Hood Project Office, 105 Memorial Dr., Gatesville, TX, and be escorted to the work site. No other site visit will be available prior to bid closing.
