Description

DB Wage Determination Qualification Technical Requirements Study Statement of Work RFP and Clauses Tacoma Union Station Terrazzo Repair Tacoma Union Station dates from 1901 and has been leased and operated as a Federal Courthouse by the General Services Administration (GSA) since 1992. The existing terrazzo is generally in good condition. The geometric patterns located on floors two, three and four are for the most part intact, but various cracks, chips and discoloration appear throughout the building. Evidence of previous repairs is apparent throughout the terrazzo, including crack filler which is failing. While the finish currently applied to the terrazzo is inappropriate as a terrazzo finish, the wax material does not appear to have damaged the material except for clouding its appearance and requiring significant upkeep. The terrazzo dates from the original building's construction and thus it was not installed with the types of expansion joints or metal divider straps as would be found in newer installations.
