Description

Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM), Washington, DC is issuing this Sources Sought to identify potential small, bondable, and experienced businesses such as: (1) Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB): (2) Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB); (3) 8(a) contractors, (4) HUBZone Small Businesses, (5) Women Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), (6) and/or Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB) that are capable of meeting this construction requirement. The construction need is relative to Project No. 818CM2030 entitled Massachusetts National Cemetery Phase 3 Expansion and Cemetery Development, located in Bourne, Massachusetts. This project will develop approximately 20 acres within the existing cemetery to include approximately 9,000 pre-placed concrete crypts, 1000 cremain sites, and approximately 4500 columbarium niches. This project will also include administration and maintenance buildings; roads; landscaping; site furnishings; irrigation system; utility system; environmental preservation and mitigation. The estimated cost range for this project is between $20,000,000 and $50,000,000. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 237990 and the small business size standard is $33.5 Million. The award of a firm fixed-price construction contract is anticipated. Interested bondable small businesses having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this sources sought announcement. Responses must include the following information: (1) Company name, address, point of contact with phone number and e-mail address; (2) Business size determination and qualifying small business status; (3) Bonding capacity (from surety); and (4) Construction experience of similar projects in size, scope and dollar amount (minimum 3). You are required to E-mail your responses to the Contracting Officer (Gregory Sabater) at Gregory.M.Sabater@va.gov no later than 4:00 pm EST on January 31, 2011, and in the subject line state Massachusetts National Cemetery and your Company Name. Please note that this is not a request for proposal (RFP) and the government is only seeking information for market research purposes only. The government may or may not issue solicitation documents.
