Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil/. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD). NSWCCD Philadelphia is currently looking for sources that can design, furnish and test motor-operated pilot valve (MOPV) for use aboard U.S. Navy ships. The MOPV will provide two control functions, as a 4-port master MOPV and a 3-port service MOPV. The 4-port master MOPV will be used to initiate AFFF concentrate flow and fire main flow for mixing and disbursement to AFFF systems aboard ship. The 3-port MOPV serves as the local disbursement valve for either fire main flow or the AFFF mixture. The MOPV specified herein shall be a 4-port valve with capability to function as a 3-port valve. The MOPV is subject to the preference for domestic specialty metals, 48 CFR 252.225-7014. Materials used in the construction of the valve, actuator, and associated equipment shall be corrosion resistant materials suitable for use in a seawater environments. The MOPV shall operate under temperatures nominally at 70 °F, but varying between 32 °F and 150 °F. The MOPV shall operate under humidity varying between 0% and 100%, with the expectation of condensation forming in and on the MOPV. The MOPV shall operate with occasional seawater mist or spray directed onto the valve. Operating pressure experienced by valve internals: Nominal range of 150-185 psig and Minimum of 50 psig. The MOPV shall meet MIL SPEC levels for shipboard shock, vibration and EMI.
