Description
THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR A QUOTE OR PROPOSAL. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND QUOTES OR PROPOSALS WILL BE REQUESTED. The National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Nursing Research intends to negotitate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to the Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences, (FAES) located at One Cloister Ct., Suite 230, Bethesda, Maryland 20814-1460. The purpose of this requirement is to develop and expand the research capability among graduate students and faculty in schools of nursing, and to develop and expand the basis for clinical practice in genetics among advanced practice nurses. The training course conducted by the Foundation for Advance Education in the Sciences, is an intensive, one-month training research course designed to provide a foundation in molecular genetics for use in research and clinical practices. The period of performance shall be from June 6, 2011 through July 1, 2011, Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 6:00pm (except for possible changes to the schedule). The FAES Graduate School at NIH will provide the following: lecturers, handouts for lecture presentations, coursework notebook and support materials such as references and handouts, design and conduct nine (9) laboratories sessions. Handle scheduling, printing, and audio visual coordination for all NINR instructors. NINR will be responsible for all disposable material that is used in the labs. The program features both classroom and laboratory components and participants will spend one month in residence at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. The sole source determination is based on the fact that the Bio-Trac program created by FAES provides the lecture and hands-on laboratory training for the NINR SGI program since its inception, its an extensive series of post-graduate level hands-on biotechnology training courses give by FAES at NIH every summer. These courses are open to the scientific community and are taught by active researchers (over 250 participating scientists) in our teaching facillity at NIH. There are 41 different training courses offered a year in different disciplines of molecular biology. The programs has over 12,000 scientists who received training in the Bio-Trac biotechnology training program.
