Description
This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information only. This is not a Solicitation Announcement, nor is it a Request for Proposal. This request does not obligate the government in any contract award. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, is conducting preliminary research to determine the market capabilities of potential contractors to support projects in the broad category of " fire/crash/rescue facility construction" within the South Atlantic Division boundaries to include Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama. Fire/Crash/Rescue Construction includes design and construction of Crash, Fire and Rescue Facilities, including fire stations, single or multi story, design-build or construction only; or the renovation, addition, alteration, or service upgrade to existing Fire/Crash /Rescue facilities -complete or phased renovation (renovation of one area while another area of the building is occupied and functioning). The estimated magnitude for upcoming projects is very wide -from $500,000 to $20 Million. The design shall be in accordance with UFC 4-730-10 Fire Stations Design Guide and fire detection/suppression requirements identified in UFC 3-600-01 Fire Protection Engineering for Facilities. The facilities will include space for vehicle parking, equipment storage, 24-hour crew quarters, administration, training, vehicle/equipment maintenance, 24-hour emergency response call center, biohazard clean room, chemical agent storage and all other associated space needed for a fully functional Crash/Fire/Rescue Station. All interested firms with 236220 as an approved NAICS code have until 21 January 2011 at 2:00pm EST to submit the following information: - Name & Address of your Firm - Point of Contact (name/phone/email) - Business Size, to include designation as HUBZone, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, Woman-Owned Business, and large business. [If an 8(a) Small Business, your firm must have an office in Region IV (GA, AL, NC, TN, MS, FL, KY, SC)] - Bonding capability-both single and aggregate, as evidenced by submission of Surety Company letter stating bonding capacity - Evidence of capabilities to perform comparable work in the area of crash/fire/rescue facilities on three recent projects (not more than five years old). Include the project name and description of the key/salient features of the project (i.e., square footage, multi-story, secure facility, phased renovation, etc.), completion date, total contract construction value, whether it was design-build or construction only, and your company's level of involvement in the project. Please provide at least one point of contact (with email address and phone number) for project validation. - Firm's capability to perform, to include geographic span and project size. Include firm's in-house capability to execute design and construction, or established relationship with a design firm to perform D-B.
