- This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information only. This is not a Solicitation Announcement, nor is it a Request for Proposal. This request does not obligate the government in any contract award. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, is conducting preliminary research to determine the market capabilities of potential contractors to support projects in the broad category of "medical facility construction" within the South Atlantic Division boundaries to include Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama. Medical Construction includes design and construction of Defense Medical Facilities, including medical and dental treatment facilities (MTF's), medical training facilities, medical research facilities, and veterinary treatment facilities, single or multi story, design-build or construction only; or the renovation, addition, alteration, or service upgrade to existing U.S. Military medical facilities -complete or phased renovation (renovation of one area while another area of the building is occupied and functioning). Typical components for medical facilities include exam rooms, Doctor offices, pharmacy, optometry, radiology, labs, pathology, physical therapy, behavioral health, and other treatment areas. Larger medical facilities could include in-patient rooms, nurse stations, emergency rooms, ambulance stations, and operating rooms. The estimated magnitude for upcoming projects is very wide -from $500,000 to $65 Million. All interested firms with 236220 as an approved NAICS code have until 21 January 2011 at 2:00pm EST to submit the following information: - Name & Address of your Firm - Point of Contact (name/phone/email) - Business Size, to include designation as HUBZone, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, Woman-Owned Business, and large business. [If an 8(a) Small Business, your firm must have an office in Region IV (GA, AL, NC, TN, MS, FL, KY, SC)] - Bonding capability-both single and aggregate, as evidenced by submission of Surety Company letter stating bonding capacity - Evidence of capabilities to perform comparable work in the area of medical facility construction on three recent projects (not more than five years old). Include the project name and description of the key/salient features of the project (i.e., square footage, multi-story, secure facility, phased renovation, etc.), completion date, total contract construction value, whether it was design-build or construction only, and your company's level of involvement in the project. Please provide at least one point of contact (with email address and phone number) for project validation. - Firm's capability to perform, to include geographic span and project size. Include firm's in-house capability to execute design and construction, or established relationship with a design firm to perform D-B.
