- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a contract action to the Boeing Company (Boeing), 7755 E Marginal Way S., Seattle, WA 98108-4002, for engineering assessment for airworthiness integration of an Outer Mold Line (OML) change to include ground test evaluation of the P-8A aircraft modal response. The effort was procured pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.302-1 ""Only One Responsible Source and No Other Type of Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements."" The Boeing P-8A team is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the Boeing 737-S00ERX P-8A airframe, as well as the sole integrator of systems, and therefore is the only contractor with the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data that can meet the Government's requirements on a timely basis. It was determined that a CPFF contract action was the appropriate contract type pursuant to DFARS 235.00G(b)(ii)(A). This is a development program with uncertainties related to the Increment 3 requirements making CPFF applicable and a fixed -price type contract inapplicable.
