Description
The Department of Energys (DOE) Office of Science (SC) Consolidated Service Center located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee intends to award a sole source contract under the provisions of Federal Acquisition Regulations Part 13 and Part 6.302-1. The SC intends to participate in and attend the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) Conference being held in Phoenix, Arizona. SACNAS is the leading scientific professional society dedicated to fostering the success of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in STEM. SACNAS hosts annual conferences to gather its membership to provide a convening that immerses them in cutting-edge STEM research, professional development sessions, and provides exposure to career opportunities, including those sponsored by federal science agencies, in addition to providing multicultural celebratory events honoring the traditions of the cultures of their members. SC seeks to be a partner member in the 2024 SACNAS National Diversity in STEM Conference (NDiSTEM), occurring in Phoenix, Arizona on October 31 November 2, 2024, and engage SACNAS members through other opportunities offered by SACNAS, such as the Community College Day and advertisement of SC-sponsored training and research opportunities via the SACNAS social media platforms and digital publications. SACNAS seeks to introduce and expose their membership to a broader range of STEM research and training opportunities, particularly opportunities in the physical sciences and at DOE National Laboratories and SCs scientific user facilities. This announcement constitutes the only synopsis for this requirement and is issued for notification purposes only. No known potential alternate sources exists, which could satisfy SCs needs.
