- The US Coast Guard Training Center Cape May located at 1 Munro Ave, Cape May, NJ 08204 issuing this request for information (RFI) for market research purposes to identify an optimal bunkbed design to implement for recruit training. Our unique needs are as follows: our recruit training center houses up to 1000-1500 recruits at any given time, disbursed throughout four barracks building. Currently, our recruits sleep in bunkbed-style beds.� Our current bunk-beds are well beyond their life expectancy and parts are failing. Our objective is to replace our inoperable bunkbeds (approx. 100 as of 18 Sept 2024) with a sustainable design that will endure over years and enable us to maximize the number of recruits we are able to train in Fiscal Year 2025. Ensuring accurate bid submissions is crucial to the success of our project. Therefore, we strongly encourage all bidders to conduct a thorough site visit to verify quantities before finalizing their bids. It is expected that offerors or quoters inspect the site where the work will be performed to better understand the scope of the project. To facilitate this process, an organized site visit has been scheduled for October 17, 2024, at 09:00 am est. Please note that all visitors must provide the following information prior to scheduling a site visit: Full legal name, date of birth, contact number, email address, Driver�s License, registration of vehicle and proof of insurance. All vendors interested in attending a site visit shall submit their request via email to: ashly.l.thomas@uscg.mil. Specific considerations for information/market research: Replace failed/inoperable bunkbeds without disruption to recruit training Logistics plan/cost to dismantle & remove current failed beds, ship new beds, and assemble these beds. ������ a.� Our buildings have wide stairwells but no elevators. Each building has 3 floors. Bunkbeds that need to be replaced are on the first, second, and third floors.� Floor plans are in the attached document. Photos of exterior doorways, interior doorways (with squad bay access) as well as connecting stairwells are attached. Buildings do not have ramps � access to exterior doors is via short stairways. Failed bunkbeds exist in 3 separate buildings in the following amounts: Munro Hall: 17* Healy Hall: 10* James Hall: 70* *These numbers shift as beds continue to fall into disrepair, and/or we are able to make minor repairs to restore functionality & safety. Due to the need to maximize space in our squadbays and limited storage, each bunkbed features a compartmentalized storage area for uniforms, gear and several unique items Our bunkbeds must be easily moveable (our current beds are on casters)� which is an important feature as we routinely shift the location of the beds to increase space available for training � inspections, teaching, etc � inside the squadbays Dimension considerations; to maximize current space, we are requesting a design that is close to 83 ��x 33 ��� wide.� The designed bed must snugly/securely fit a mattress that is 73 �� x 29 �� The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement may be 337122. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.� After reviewing RFI responses to this RFI, and if the USCG still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement may be published on the Contract Opportunities (formerly FedBizOpps) website or distributed to contract holders if a strategically-sourced vehicle is deemed appropriate. It is the responsibility of the interested parties to monitor the Contract Opportunities website. Failure to respond or submit sufficiently detailed information may result in a company not being considered a likely offeror when making a decision on whether or how to set aside a solicitation for restricted competition. Regardless of the information submitted, the Government reserves the right to consider any arrangement as determined appropriate for this requirement. No proprietary, classified, confidential, or sensitive information should be included in your response to this RFI. The Government reserves the right to use any information provided by respondents for any purpose determined necessary and legally appropriate, including using technical information provided by respondents in any resultant solicitation. If significant subcontracting or teaming is anticipated, organizations should address the logistical, administrative, and management structure of such arrangements.
