It is anticipated that the Request for Quotes will be issued on or around July 21, 2025 A scheduled Site visit to occur on August 4, 2025 meeting at the Heber-Kamas Ranger District Kamas office in Kamas, Utah at 9:30 AM. Any parties interested in Attending this site visit need to contact Scott Frost at scott.frost@usda.gov or 435-602-3100 The period of performance of this contract is from date of award through October 31, 2025 The project area is located east of Francis Utah between State Highways 150 and 35. T.3.0.S, R.9.0E, 26; T.2.0N., R.9.0W, 30; T.3.0S., R.8.0E, 26; T.2.0N., R.10.0W, 30; T.1.0N., R.10.0W, 30; T.4.0S., R.8.0E, 26; T.1.0N., R.9.0W, 30. Description of Work- The Yellow Lake Fire started on September 28, 2024, on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest (UWCNF). Hazard tree abatement along roads used by emergency personnel associated with this incident, either caused by suppression activities or wildfire, is considered an emergency in need of Emergency Mitigation under National Environmental Policy Act general requirements (36 CFR 220.4 (b) and (b) (1)). This contract will abate hazard trees that could impact designated travel routes on National Forest System (NFS) lands as a result of the Yellow Lake Fire. Post-fire, hazard trees present an immediate and ongoing threat to life and property. Hazard trees are trees that could strike a designated road. Hazard trees will be abated (felled) near designated features to provide for immediate firefighter and/or public safety. Once trees are felled, they become a fuels hazard emergency and must be decked/piled to be burned by FS or removed from NFS lands. Additional services to be performed include treatment of slash/fuels, road maintenance, suppression repair rehabilitation work including Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) that entails road maintenance, gate replacement, and noxious weed mitigation. There is an unestimated volume of fuelwood that is subject to agreement for removal. Awarded contract will be a commercial services contract with timber removal subject to agreement. The contract shall be awarded using a best value source selection method; the resulting contract shall be a firm fixed price commercial services contract.
