- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District intends to solicit a fixed price contract for repairs to the Drift Collection Vessel (DCV) Gelberman. The solicitation will be restricted to shipyards within the boundary deemed safely navigable to reach by the DCV Gelberman. Per DCV Gelberman COI states that Routes Permitted is �Lakes, Bays, and Sounds. Plus Limited Coastwise� Routes permitted is determined by the size, shape, and stability of the vessel. The Work Performance Location shall be limited to the area within the Project Boundary labeled �Limit of Drift Removal Project,� as shown on the project map �New York Harbor NY and NJ Collection and Removal of Drift,� dated 30 September 1986, plus extended locations outside of this Project Boundary, deemed safely navigable to reach by DCV Gelberman as follows: No further than a 500 nautical mile (round trip) voyage via navigable waters beginning and ending at the South Project Boundary in the Atlantic Ocean (Atlantic Highlands). Any coastwise Atlantic Ocean transit shall not extend past the entrance to Delaware Bay. Any transit route past this point must be via the Delaware River, C&D Canal, or Chesapeake Bay. No further than a 200 nautical mile (round trip) voyage via navigable waters beginning and ending at the East Project Boundary in Long Island Sound (Port Chester). No further than a 140 nautical mile (round trip) voyage via navigable waters beginning and ending at the North Project Boundary in the Hudson River (Tappan Zee). Description of Work a) The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, fittings, equipment, tools, power, heat, water,etc., and performing all work on U.S. Drift Collection Vessel ""GELBERMAN"" specified herein. This notice is to give notice of the Government�s intent to solicit this work under Other Than Full and Open Competition.
