Description
This is a Market Survey conducted by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Headquarters Sealift Support Program Office (SSPO). It is a request for information only and your response is not an offer. As such this request for information does not commit the government to pay any costs incurred in preparation of submissions to this Market Survey. The SSPO is assuming responsibility for the maintenance and repair of the above systems once they are placed aboard the MPF Ships. Currently these systems and their predecessors are maintained by the ship operating companies under contract to the Military Sealift Command (MSC). The transition of this responsibility from MSC to the SSPO will be phased in as INLS is placed upon each of the Maritime Prepositioned Force (MPF) ships. To fulfill these maintenance and related repair responsibilities the SSPO plans to award a contract by September, 2008. The Federal Supply Class applicable to this acquisition is J019 (Maintenance, Repair, Modification, Rebuilding and Installation of Equipment Related to Ships). Applicable NAICS service codes can be the following: 488390 (Other support activities for water transportation) 336611 (Ship-building and repairing) 483111 (Deep Sea Freight Transportation) The SSPO is soliciting your input and expressions of interest regarding this work as well as recommendations regarding the best commercial practices to be used. Request your input in response to this Market Survey no later than 31 March 2008. This Market Survey will be followed by a more detailed Sources Sought (which will include a draft statement of work) and information for an ?Industry Day? to further solicit input from industry prior to issuing the solicitation. The SSPO Program Director is Mr Dan McCluskey at phone number (202) 685-6012, or Daniel.McCluskey@navy.mil. The Contracting Officer is Mr. Joe Chojnacki (202) 685-6017; email Joseph.Chojnacki@navy.mil. The Contract Specialist is Mr. Donald White (202) 685-6029; email donald.c.white@navy.mil. You are requested to respond with ?INLS On-board Maintenance? in the subject line if replying by email.
