The work to be performed under this project consists of the renovation of 20 bath/shower rooms, including asbestos abatement of floor tile and pipe insulation in these rooms; construction of a new enclosure building over the existing sewage treatment tanks, and construction of fire-related enclosures around six stairways. The estimated cost range of construction is between $250,000 to $500,000. Substantial completion shall be in 126 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Collect calls will not be accepted. It is emphasized that requests for Plans and Specifications shall be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. All requests must be in writing. Requests will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until supplies are exhausted. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A pre-bid walk-thru is scheduled for November 13, 1996, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
