Address, scott.raoul@epamail.epa.gov. The Robert S. Kerr Environmental
Research Center has a need to purchase an all terrain vehicle mounted
subsurface sampling characterizations system. The system must be
capable of installing small diameter piezometers to depths of
approximately 75 feet in unconsolidated materials and 2" I.D.
monitoring wells to a depth of approximately 30 feet. The system must
also have the capability of obtaining undisturbed saturated and
unsaturated soil/aquifer materials, with sleeved core collection
capabilities. The system shall be capable of entering exiting through
approximately 4 ft by 8ft openings and capable of drilling appropriate
openings through concrete or asphalt to allow sample acquisition. The
system shall include a secured (fully enclosed and lockable, or
equivalent) trailer for storage of the rig and related tools and
equipment. The system shall include all necessary equipment, hand
tools, and other accessories necessary for obtaining soil/aquifer
samples and installing piezometers and monitoring wells in a wide range
of geologic settings and for evaluating hydrological conditions site.
Training for 3 operators shall be included. A complete descriptions of
the performance specifications will be identified in the solicitation.
The solicitation will be processed as a commercial item, using FAR Part
12 procedures. The RFP will be posted on the Internet for downloading
by accessing EPA's home page at "http:// www.epa.gov/oam/cinn_cmd/". A
limited number of hard copies will be available for mailings. It is
anticipated that a limited number of hard copied will be available for
mailings. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available on
