INTERNET POSTINGS OF SOLICITATIONS As of April 1, 1996, all Northwest Mountain Region FAA procurements over $50,000 will be publicly announced on the Internet. Internet is one avenue for FAA to use. Other selected means such as plan centers, newspapers, periodicals, or public postings may also be considered. Publication in the CBD will be considered but is no longer mandatory. This is pursuant to Section 348 of the 1996 Department of Transportation Appropriations Act (Public Law 104-50) requiring the FAA to develop an Acquisition Management System (AMS) that provides for more timely and cost-effective acquisitions. The requirement for advertising does not apply to emergency single source actions, exercise of options or changes. For actions under $50,000, a public announcement is optional.
